Medical disclaimer
The content on Supplement Hype is provided for general informational and educational purposes only. It is not medical advice and is not a substitute for the advice of a physician, pharmacist, or other qualified health professional.
- Nothing here is intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.
- Dietary supplements are not reviewed or approved by the U.S. FDA, the European Medicines Agency, or comparable regulators for safety or efficacy before they are sold.
- Our "dose reality" lines describe the doses used in published studies. They are not a recommendation for you to take any amount of anything.
- Supplements can interact with medications and health conditions — sometimes dangerously. Always consult a qualified professional before starting, stopping, or combining supplements, and especially if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have a medical condition, or take prescription medication.
- If you think you may have a medical emergency, contact your doctor or local emergency services immediately. Never disregard professional medical advice because of something you read here.
Evidence grades reflect our reading of the available human research at the date shown on each page. Science changes; a grade can change with it. We make no warranty that any information is complete, current, or error-free, and we accept no liability for decisions made on the basis of this site to the fullest extent permitted by law.
Affiliate & advertising disclosure
Some links on Supplement Hype are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. Here is exactly how we handle that:
- Evidence grades are set before any product is attached and never depend on whether — or how much — a company pays.
- Affiliate links only ever point to third-party-tested products, and are disclosed at the point of the link.
- We may accept payment to have a product independently lab-tested and listed (sponsored verification). That is labelled as sponsored. It cannot buy a better grade.
- We do not run display advertising.
This disclosure is made in line with the U.S. FTC's endorsement guidelines and applicable EU and Dutch consumer-protection and advertising rules.
A note on health claims
Supplement Hype reports and grades the state of the evidence for claims that are commonly made about supplements. We are not asserting that any product cures, treats, or prevents disease. Where we describe a marketed claim, we are characterizing how strong the human evidence for that claim is — not endorsing it.
